The Creation of the National Digital Repository of Timor-Leste – Challenges for the National Institute of Science and Technology

Abstract

One of the main projects of the National Institute of Science and Technology of Timor-Leste (INCT) is the creation of a National Digital Repository (RDN), to begin the processes of storing the intellectual heritage, preservation and dissemination of scientific production in Timor-Leste. The aim of this work is to find answers to three essential questions: what is the need to create a National Digital Repository in East Timor; what were the results of the feasibility study that the INCT commissioned in relation to the development of a Science, Innovation and Technology Policy and on the national digital repository; taking into account the feasibility study, what kind of changes were made to the INCT structure in order to create and develop the National Digital Repository.
