Science and technology in East Timor: An Idea for Reflection

Abstract

Timor-Leste is a young state, around two decades old. As its main source of revenue is the exploration of hydrocarbons, it is time to consider new dimensions that provide opportunities, with a focus on science and technology. In this essay, we discuss a driving idea that others have already put forward: the possibility of conceiving an industrial consortium for the purpose of producing medicines of certified quality.
